About We Present
We Present is a theatre company made up of women and people assigned female at birth (AFAB) living in HMP YOI Polmont. The company was established in 2023 following the success of the radio project We Talk.
The group meets every Friday in Polmont’s Studio 2 and devise all of their performances from scratch. Their first production, This One’s For Me, was co-created with artists Mona Keeling and Indra Wilson in March 2024.
This was followed by After The Party, a new performance reflecting on the struggles many women face as they work out how to continue the dance when the music has stopped. Their most recent work, Happily Ever After, explored myths, expectations and ideas of agency within fairytales. Both performances were co-created with artists Jess Thorpe and Margot Conde Arenas.
The company is currently led by Jess Thorpe with Libby Taylor.
